"We can say with certainty - or 90% probability - that the new industries that are about to be born will have nothing to do with information."

Peter F. Drucker

Organizations today face a constant challenge: the need to store rapidly increasing amounts of data for a growing number of business applications and resources.

In addition, the combination of government regulation, corporate compliance, and security concerns mean that simply increasing data storage capacity is no longer an adequate response. In today’s environment, Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) needs to be a part of your overall IT strategy.

Our ILM solutions help you successfully manage growth of data surrounding replication, disaster recovery & business continuity and backup. We can also solve key business and IT problems, including ineffective use and storage of data and overly high costs of managing information.

In designing our ILM solutions, we follow a straightforward ILM analysis process which includes assessment, socialization, classification, automation, and review.

The Information Lifecycle Management Process

We follow a straightforward process to help you achieve successful and strategic information lifecycle management:

Assessment Phase: First, we help you determine the type of data you are dealing with, and where it lives.

Socialization Phase: Next, we gather your information intelligence (utilization and costs) and explain facts to information sponsors. This phase also allows collaboration between sponsors to discuss data usage patterns to determine how critical the information is to a business division at any given point.

Classification Phase: Next, in consultation with the client, we prioritize and classify information based on business requirements (mission-critical, business-sensitive, departmental). This helps the IT department determine where data should live throughout its lifecycle. In addition, the business is responsible for informing IT about which data is essential to the continuity of business operations. Operational Risk is often heavily involved in this planning and classifying.

Automation Phase: In this phase we help you take action on your defined policies and migrate data from one environment to another to satisfy those policies.

Review Phase: Finally, we review the effectiveness of the systems and the data it hosts to preserve the automation of the policies and prepare for support moving forward.
